Saturday pondering
This is the start of the Pchum Ben holiday here in Cambodia. Its about three days of national holiday. Most businesses do not close these days but some people take time off to be with family. I don’t really do the Cambodian holidays just like we do not do the American ones. For me, nothing really changes. The things I enjoy doing I still end up doing. I’ll get a coffee somewhere, take a walk, think some thoughts. Sometimes Khmer family stop by during the holidays or people go to temples to celebrate. I have been asked to go but I demur. Instead its easier to just let my wife and mom here do whatever and do the things I enjoy which really don’t change.
An interesting thing lately is we have gotten puppies. I just never thought it would happen, but there you go.

To Saturday and beyond
That means coffee and walking. And some writing here and there. Getting the puppies means a change in us going away. No Battambang in a few weeks. My wife’s friend that helped here won’t be helping any more. It became too much for my wife. I had told her before,
Once you start paying a friend to be a friend, you lose the whole thing.
She realized it lately. So we will find someone to help here that is not a friend.
Instead of sleep I start the Saturday at midnight with the pups. They are like babies. What we give them now we get back many times in love and companionship.
I’ll write another thing about what it all means. A Saturday. This is enough pondering.
